Features & Benefits

Offset and Flexo Printing

The plate layout functions of Plate Controller are designed for sheetfed offset and Flexo printing. Users can freely create the plate or paper size to make up the layout of their choice. The defined layout can be stored for easy retrieval, making reprinting or re-laying out that much easier.

Integration with any Front-end

Plate Controller can be used as a standalone app in front of the Express RIP and can be easily integrated into the existing Express workflow system. Most importantly, it can also work as a standalone unit, working in tandem with most workflow systems in the market.

Smart double-sided placement

Plate Controller offers precise page positioning for double-sided printing. By dragging a job containing a front and back job onto a plate, the user can find the front and back jobs are correctly located on either side of the front and back plate.  Moving the job in the front plate will automatically move the job on the back plate, allowing the front and back positions to be perfectly aligned all the time.

User definable placement templates

Plate Controller supports user definable templates, allowing a layout to be created and saved for future use.

Absolute or relative placement

job placement can be achieved by absolute value or relative value on to the plate, this will help to increase precision of job placement.

The Job Placement tools enables users to place jobs on the plate automatically or manually using x-y coordinates, snap-to-grid, or simply mouse drag and drops. Placed jobs are defined by name and dimension, and can be viewed as thumbnail.

The input job management on Plate Controller can be either hot folder and queue operation. Users are available to classify their job based on defined queue and requirement. In addition, jobs are easily located in the input queue with search function.

Step and Repeat and Automatic fill

The step and repeat function allows jobs to be placed in automatic or manual mode. Automatic mode will fill up an area, or the entire sheet; while manual mode allows user to specify the number of repeats horizontally and vertically. Multiple step-and-repeat styles are also provided for irregular shaped jobs such as die-cut box and round labels to ensure economical plate output.

WYSIWYG graphical user interface

Plate Controller provides a WYSIWYG graphical user interface for accurate placement of jobs and automatic alignment of front and back jobs. It allows user to graphically set the offsets between repeats. User can also fine tune the offsets by manually entering them in the step-and-repeat setup.
